Christmas & Lent Already?!?

Many long-range plans for worship have been made for our major events for 2008-09. Among those are the following:

December 7 – “The Hanging of the Greens”

December 14 – “The Living Light” (a musical-drama by Ruth Elaine Schram)

December 21 – “A Festival of Lessons and Carols”

December 24 -- 4:00pm and 8:00pm Christmas Eve services.

Dates have also been set for some very special events during the Lenten season with our biggest event being the return of “The Living Last Supper” with presentations on Wednesday, April 8 and Thursday, April 9 at 7:00pm.

There are many more worship opportunities in the planning stages too numerous to list here, but if you join one of our choirs, or volunteer to help with staging or acting in some of the dramas we are hoping to present, you will find out about all these exciting possibilities.

* During worship on May 18, the choir will sing a brand new anthem called “We Dedicate Our Children” for the children graduating from elementary and middle school, and for Lilli Taylor, our high school graduate.

* Choir and Handbells will continue through June if possible, but some times revisions might be made. (Most summers, the choir has been small on Sunday mornings, but we have not made the decision as yet for this year.)

* June will be a fun month. We will begin building the sets for the Christmas musical drama while we have TIME to do that!!

* VBS – Ann and Sara will be teaching the Rainforest rhythms and tunes to the children during the week of June 23.

* The Community handbell choirs, OKC Ringtones and Bronze Tapestry, have been meeting every Monday in our Sanctuary under the direction of Marilyn Woodruff. On Wednesday, July 16, these groups will per form a concert for our members and friends in our Sanctuary.
